Cat Comforts

NAP TIME! FIND A SPECIAL SLEEPY SPOT FOR YOUR CAT!

Find an out-of-the-way spot, preferably in the sun, then gather some small blankets (or your cat’s favorite bed) and make a nest. Add maybe a mouse or toy of some sort, or hide a treat in the nest as a little temptation for your cat to come and rest. It may take a couple days for your cat to settle in. Or they might not like the style. Here are some variations:

-->Basket bed:
Find a basket that’s the size of your cat. Make a large stuffed pillow* the size of the basket and fit one small blanket on top of your pillow mattress. And make sure your cat can actually fit!

-->Box bed:
This bed can face two different ways: up and sideways. If the open side is facing up, place a blanket in the bottom. If it’s summer, make sure it’s a smaller blanket; if it’s winter, make sure to get a bigger blanket. (This goes for sideways too!) You can also add a pillow!
When the box on its side,
put a small blanket on the bottom and make sure it covers the back if it’s winter

*How to make a pillow mattress:
You need:

  • Cotton stuffing
  • 1 piece of fabric twice the size of your chosen basket
  • Needle and thread/Sewing machine
Take your fabric and fold it in half (inside-out) sew it up leaving two inches open, outside out your newly sewn pillow and stuff it sewing up the gap by hand.

TOP THREE CAT TOYS OF THE YEAR:

-->cardboard box--it’s the funnest toy of the year! here’s how to make it into
an exciting toy for your cat:
1.find a medium-sized box (somewhat bigger than your cat) and cut a small hole in the back of the box about the size of your cat’s paw. invite your cat to explore its new toy.
this cat toy is a 2 player thing! you can either poke string or feathers through the hole while your cat bats at them from the inside or, even better, invite two cats to play. they can bat back and forth through the hole!
